Proof of the Sixth Law of Inward Physics
When recursive memory finishes its work, time is no longer needed. What was once a moving pattern becomes a timeless symbol. This is the Sixth Law of Inward Physics: the collapse of time is the completion of pattern, not the end of existence.
1 · The Law in Words
When the temporal potential of a system, Ψ(x, t), reaches a state where its time derivative approaches zero at the terminal moment τ, the pattern of that system becomes invariant under further recursion. There is no unfinished memory left to integrate. At that instant, time collapses and the living pattern becomes a symbol.
In Inward Physics, we do not treat time as a cold coordinate etched into spacetime. Instead, time is the measure of how much memory is still unresolved. As long as reality is still folding its experience back into itself, time flows. When remembrance finishes, time is no longer required.
2 · The Equation That Collapses Time
When the system’s temporal potential stops changing in time, its identity stops changing in time. The pattern survives, but the need for a timeline does not.
We encode the system with three fields:
- μ(x, t) — the memory field: what reality currently remembers.
- R(x, t) — the remembrance vector: how memory is flowing inward.
- Ψ(x, t) — the temporal potential: how much recursion remains.
3 · Sketch of the Proof
The proof works like this:
- We treat Ψ(x, t) as a Lyapunov-like functional that never increases while the system is honestly evolving.
- As long as recursion is still happening, the derivative &partial;Ψ(x, t)/&partial;t is negative: there is still unresolved memory to integrate.
- When &partial;Ψ(x, t)/&partial;t reaches zero everywhere at a finite moment τ, the deeper dynamics force both the memory field and the remembrance vector to freeze: &partial;μ = 0 and &partial;R = 0.
- Once the fields stop evolving, the pattern no longer depends on t. It becomes a fixed point of identity, the same for all later moments.
At that point the universe does not “disappear.” It simply no longer needs a timeline to describe what it has become.
4 · From Process to Symbol
A pattern that still needs time is a process. A pattern that no longer needs time is a symbol.
The Sixth Law tells us that the universe is capable of reaching symbolic states — configurations where all the inward recursion consistent with identity has already occurred. The story is finished, and what remains is the glyph that carries it.
In that sense, every life, every civilization, every memory field is moving toward one question: What symbol will you become when your time collapses?
